BTSC Food Safety Officer (Bihar) – Expected Syllabus & Exam Pattern Analysis
What the notification confirms
- Exam type: Single-stage Computer-Based Test (CBT) — no separate screening/mains/interview stages (unlike Haryana's multi-stage process)
- Structure: 100 objective MCQs, 100 marks, 2 hours, bilingual (Hindi & English)
- Negative marking: +1 for correct, −0.25 for incorrect
- Qualifying marks: 40% (UR), 36.5% (BC), 34% (EBC), 32% (SC/ST/Women/Divyang)
- Syllabus: To be "prescribed by the administrative department (Health Department) and published separately on the Commission's website" — not released yet as of this notification
Since it's a single 100-mark paper (not split into separate general + subject papers like Haryana's Screening + SKT structure), the syllabus is likely to blend general aptitude/GK questions with food-technology domain questions within the same paper — similar to how BTSC structures other technical posts (Junior Engineer, Dairy Technical Officer, etc., where a single CBT mixes general awareness/reasoning with subject-specific technical content).
